Organ Harvesting: UK indicts Nigerian doctor for conniving with Ekweremadus
Obinna Obeta, a Nigerian doctor working in the United Kingdom, has been accused of conspiring with former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice, to smuggle a homeless man into the United Kingdom in order to harvest his kidney.
Obeta, 50, was charged with the aforementioned felony when he first appeared before the Bexley Magistrate court on Thursday, July 13.
According to The Nation, Obeta is accused of conspiring with the former Deputy Senate President to enable the flight of Ukpo Nwamini David (21) from Nigeria to the United Kingdom in order to exploit him through organ harvesting.
It was learned that the Ekweremadus intended to have David’s kidney removed and donated to their daughter.
